Applications reopened for Maldives Broadcasting Commission membership

The President's Office has reopened applications for two vacant member positions on the Maldives Broadcasting Commission today.

With this announcement, the previous notice (IUL) 1-PAO/1/2024/91 issued on 18 November 2024, regarding applications for Maldives Broadcasting Commission membership, has been cancelled.

The application period for Maldives Broadcasting Commission membership is open from today until Monday, 9 December 2024, 12 p.m. Applications will be accepted at the President's Office on official working days (excluding public holidays) from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the application period.

Application forms for the Broadcasting Commission membership positions are available at the President's Office reception.

Qualifications for a candidate applying for membership of Broadcom:

  • 1. Must be a Muslim
  • 2. Must be a Maldivian citizen
  • 3. Must be at least 18 years old
  • 4. Must not have been convicted by a court of law for a Hadd offense in Islam or for the offense of breach of trust within the past five years
  • 5. Must not hold an elected or appointed position under the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives or any law
  • 6. Must not be employed in the Civil Service or in any other position in a government or government-owned company
  • 7. Must not have a financial interest in the field of communication and broadcasting
