Five opposition PPP/PNC leaders arrested while sitting in Republic Square have been summoned to appear before police at various times today.
The members were arrested while at the Republic Square on Thursday evening and released on the same day. They were released on condition that they appear later for the investigation.

The opposition leadership were protesting to call for a fair trial for the main opposition leader and PPM presidential candidate, President Abdullah Yameen, who is currently serving a jail sentence.
