Non-Resident Ambassador of the Maldives to the Netherlands, Geela Ali, has officially presented her credentials to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.
According to the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the ceremony took place yesterday morning at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague.
During a private audience with the King, Ambassador Geela conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Maldivian President Dr Mohamed Muizzu. She also reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties between the Maldives and the Netherlands.
The two nations have maintained diplomatic relations for 45 years, with the Netherlands playing a key role in supporting Maldivian tourism and development projects.
Ambassador Geela was accompanied by her husband, Abdulla Mushrif, and Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim, First Secretary of the Maldives Embassy in Belgium.
