During the ceremony --
86 of the newly elected MPs for the 19th session of the Parliament has been sworn in tonight.
The members were sworn in during a ceremony held at the Parliament, by Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi.
Guraidhoo MP Ibrahim Riza was absent from the ceremony since he was on a Umra Pilgrimage, hence 86 of the 87 elected members were sworn in tonight.
The parliament will next commence to elect the Speaker of Parliament at 10:30pm tonight. The meeting will be presided over by Meedhoo MP, Ahmed Siyam.
