Two Sri Lankans have been arrested in a joint operation by the Drug Enforcement and Counter-Narcotics Intelligence units, Police have revealed.
Police said the two men were arrested from a residential home in Henveiru following a tip-off on 5 December.
The suspects, were found to be in possession of substances believed to be alcohol.
A court-ordered search of their residence led to the discovery of 116 bottles (500ml each) and six large 5-litre containers, all containing the suspected alcohol. Following their arrest, the individuals were handed over to immigration authorities for deportation.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
