White Alert issued for rain across the country

A nation-wide White Weather Alert has been issued with a forecast of heavy rain.

Maldives Meteorological Service said that heavy rain, thunderstorm and strong winds are expected from Baa Atoll to Addu City.

Winds are expected between 5-13 mph in the north and 10-20 in other areas and expected to be picked up to 35 mph during showers and gusts.

The capital, Male’ City has been experiencing heavy rain since this morning.
