Sri Lanka bans three extremist groups

Neighboring Sri Lanka has banned the activities of three extremist groups.

The three groups banned in the country are National Thowheed Jama'ath (NTJ), Jama'athe Milla'athu Ibraheem (JMI) and Willayat As Selani.

The bans come following the series of terrorist attacks in Sri Lanka on 21 April 2019.

As a result of the conflict in Sri Lanka, a curfew was declared yesterday as well. Authorities blocked social media and the internet in some parts of the country.
