Today's hearing in the trial of the murder of Mahmood Abubakuru, who was brutally killed and dumped inside a well at an abandoned house in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Dhangethi, has been cancelled.
The accused in the case is a Bangladeshi national named Sha Olum Mia (Saalim) who has been charged with intentionally killing a person and desecrating the dead.
Today's hearing in the case was set for 10:30 a.m. this morning.
Mahmood was found murdered during a search for him – after having been declared missing. He was found with 30 different stab-wounds. Maldives Police Service has previously said that they have acquired enough evidence for a conviction.
