Cafés and restaurants ordered to stop serving

Cafes and restaurants in the Male' area has been ordered to stop serving customers.

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Twitter that restaurants and cafés are banned from providing in-house dinning services but they will be allowed to open for deliveries and takeaway.

Delivery allowed with a permit from the Maldives Police Service until 12 a.m. according to the HPA Tweet.

HPA has also announcement that a curfew will be imposed in the Greater Malé Area that (Malé, Hulhumalé, Villimalé) from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting from 12 May 2021, for the duration of one week as part of their efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The number of Covid-19 cases have been on a rise lately, with the country reporting over 1,000 new infections for three days in a row.
