Former Deputy Governor of the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), Aishath Zahira has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Capital Marketing Development Authority (CMDA).
According to the Maldivian Economic Laws, members are selected to the Board of Directors of CMDA by the President under the advisement of the parliament.
CMDA said that as per regulations, Zahira was selected as a member of the Board of Directors yesterday.
Current Board of CMDA:
- Aishath Zahira - Chairperson of the Board
- Chief Executive - vacant
- Aishahth Nadhiya - Senior Executive Director, MMA
- Ahmed Siraj - Secretary General and Senior Executive Director, Privatization and Corporatization Board and Finance Ministry
- Mariyam Visam - Registrar of Companies, Economic Ministry
- Fathimath Shafneez – Private Sector Representative
- Rifaath Jaleel – Private Sector Representative
The position of Chairperson of CMDA became vacant after the previous Chair, Nadhiya Hassan resigned in 2019.
