National airline, Maldivian, has begun sale of cheaper fare tickets today. The sale began after the airline cut cost of domestic travel within Maldives.
Recently appointed Communications Manager of Maldivian, Moosa Waseem, spoke at a press conference held by Island Aviation services today stating that the prices of domestic airfare has been lowered since 2 January 2019 and that the sale of these tickets began today.
Waseem said that high priority was given to areas frequently traveled when cutting the cost of airfare and noted that the previous highest fares are no longer available.

The lowering of airfare has been undertaken as part of President Ibrahim Solih's first 100 - day pledges.
