Sri Lanka bans entry to country via airports

Government of Sri Lanka has banned visitors from entering the country via the airports amid the global pandemic of the COVID-19 Corona Virus.

Last week, Sri Lankan authorities stopped issuing on-arrival visa.

Newswire LK reported that arrival of passengers will accordingly be halted until 31 March however, cargo, departures and transit are to be continued. “The decision came as a measure to restrict the entry of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, into the country.” according the media outlet.

While Jaffna International Airport (JIA) was previously shut down for two weeks. Sri Lanka has diagnosed a total of 28 positive Corona Virus cases within six days.
