Mariya: Zero tolerance policy needs to be implemented to maintain good name of Customs

Defence Minister, Mariya Ahmed Didi has said that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s zero tolerance policy on corruption at an individual level to maintain the good name of the Maldives Customs Service.

Speaking at the commemorative ceremony this morning to celebrate 129 years of the Customs Service, Minister Mariya said that illegal drugs is the biggest challenge to the country.

Noting that the Customs have a big responsibility in closing the door to drugs, the Defence Minister said that even with the challenges facing the employees of Customs, President Solih’s zero tolerance policy on corruption.
